DTC is thrilled to celebrate the opening of The Last Five Years on the West End. Directed by Jonathan O’Boyle and starring Molly Lynch and Oli Higginson as Cathy and Jamie, the musical transfers after a successful run at the Southwark Playhouse.
Since opening last Thursday, the show has received critical accolades. WhatsOnstage says “Beg, borrow or steal a ticket,” while the Independent calls it “A stunning love letter to musical theatre and a definite must-see”.
The Last Five Years is known for its unconventional structure as it follows a young New York couple through their love story, beginning to end and end to beginning. Cathy, a struggling actress, begins her story as their relationship barrels to an end, while Jamie, an acclaimed author, begins his just after their first date. Written by the inimitable Jason Robert Brown, this marks the first time The Last Five Years has played a significant run on the West End.
Last week, David Treatman and Max Johnson attended the opening night on behalf of DTC. They are pictured below with fellow producers of The Last Five Years.
The Last Five Years will run at the Garrick Theatre through October 17th. Get tickets or learn more by visiting www.last5yearsuk.com/.
